1975 - 1979 Rally Success

Recording five consecutive RAC Rally victories from 1975 - 1979 and numerous other global national rally wins, the Mk2 Escort was very successful from the outset. Roger Clark, Hannu Mikkola and Bjorn Waldegaard spearheaded Ford's works team assault on the world rally championship in this period.

In 1979 the Escort Mk2 dominated the world championship registering five rally wins and five second places. Waldegaard was crowned world champion narrowly beating his team-mate Hannu Mikkola to the title.
